Dr. Henzler is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College. He then received his professional degree from North Carolina State University in 1986. He received his Ph.D. in Veterinary Science from the United Graduate School of Umaguchi University, Japan in 2005.
He has received numerous honors and recognitions including two Presidential Service Awards and a National Humanitarian Award for his work in twelve foreign countries.
Other awards include the 1994 Outstanding Alumnus Award from North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He also received recognition for Outstanding Leadership in the National Oral Rabies Vaccination Program in West Virginia from USDA, APHIS during his tenure with the West Virginia Department of Health.
Dr. Henzler has practiced clinical medicine in private practice as well as full time emergency medicine. Dr. Henzler also sees birds and is the author of “Healthy Diet Healthy Bird, Complete Guide to Avian Nutrition.”
