Dr. Valerie Miller grew up in Long Island, NY. She moved to Ohio to attend Ohio State University and received her DVM from the university’s College of Veterinary Medicine there. After living in California and Virginia where she practiced in a small animal center and an all-feline practice, Dr. Miller moved to York, PA.
Dr. Miller built Springettsbury Veterinary Center on vacant ground in 1990, and by the summer of 1993, the business had grown and the building was expanded. This practice is now known as East York Veterinary Center, which had another large expansion in 2009 resulting in the current 7,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility.
East York Veterinary Center employs over 20 staff members, including four veterinarians, two managers, nurses, as well as client care and animal care specialists.
Dr. Miller has served on the Board of Directors for the York County SPCA for over 20 years. She continues to be involved and is a co-host of the local TV program: Meet the Pets. Dr. Miller and her staff participate in many community events highlighting animal welfare such as: dog walk events, York Revolution’s dog mascot, career day in schools, emergency planning with townships, etc.
East York Veterinary Center has also served the wildlife of York County by working with the area’s licensed rehabilitators and performing emergency care on a wide variety of species at the hospital’s own expense.
The hospital is well equipped with the most advanced medical, diagnostic, security and computer equipment. Every effort is made to keep the facility efficient, modern, sanitary and pleasant. The hospital’s clients tell us they appreciate the clean facility, prompt attention, and most of all the obvious care and concern for them and their pets.
